LUSH - Roots Hair Treatment

I definitely seem to be reviewing far too many Lush products on here recently, but I seem to also be spending far too much money whenever I enter a Lush store. I can't help it, it always just looks for too nice and honestly I don't think I've tried a product from there that I don't like.
Roots is a 'hair treatment' and every time I went in and looked at it, which was several as I couldn't decide wether to purchase or not for a long time, I got a new description of what it what do for my hair.
The box says that it is for thin hair, but the assistance also told me it's good for hair loss, thickening and growth! So a pretty impressive tub of wonders for sure.

I've held off on this review so that I could get in a good few uses of it before I made up my mind,in the pictures that shows two uses of the pot, which I think is really quite impressive as I'm definitely going to be getting my money's worth out of this in the end! The product itself is of very thick consistency, and feels a bit like a very heavy moisturiser. It smells gloriously minty, and gives a tingly sensation when on your scalp when applied which is really refreshing, especially if you massage it in for a couple of minutes too!

Overall I've definitely noticed that my hair has grown a lot quicker between my last root dye than the one before that. My roots are currently very noticeable, as you can see from the picture above, and I'm glad to be having my hair done this week! After application you can definitely feel a difference in the hair that has had this on, and it feels silky smooth and a lot healthier, and it feels so so lovely afterwards!5
When I apply this, I just scoop out some and massage it onto my roots and scalp and some of the hair around. I don't go too far down my hair, as I'd probably end up using way too much product doing my whole head, and after all this is targeted at the roots! I leave it on for as long as I can, up to an hour if it's possible and then wash it out in the shower and follow my normal routine!
Have you ever used any lush treatments?

Friday Catch Up #7

Aw man, here I am writing this and I have just finished my second term of university, and I'm heading home in two days to start some hardcore revision for my exams in May! I cannot believe this time has gone this quickly, and I had a brilliant night last night at a club night called Uprawr and the Purple Turtle in Camden. The music is so good there, and 3 Fall Out Boy songs were played!!! This of course made me very very happy.

Also, sadly I have lost my phone so I don't have that many pictures (sad times), so I don't have that much to share this week in terms of photos! I've been quite busy, but I am really looking forward to going home and seeing all my friends!! And also getting a hair cut, good god my split ends are so bad right now.

Big exciting thing  that happened recently, my dad and step-mum visited and we went to see The Commitments, which was a super great musical, all the acting and singing was spot on, and it's so different to everything else that I've seen at the West End. Definitely would recommend! Apart from that I've just been doing uni work, haven't had chance to do any outfit posts which is sad, but I'm hoping when I'm at home I'll be able to get a load and hopefully look more into getting a new camera which is really exciting, as my current one is quite old and I'd love to be able to take higher quality photos for both this blog and for my uni work!
Anyway, I did take a load of photos of recent beauty stuff I bought, but I want to swatch it all properly first as I hate it when I go to a review post and there isn't a swatch of something either on someone's arm if it's eyeshadow or on the lips if it's lipstick! So yup, I'll get around to that when I have some good lighting again!
Whew, that's a lot of personal crap unloaded just there, hope you don't mind! Have a good weekend!

Copenhagen Aquarium

Photos: Megan Williams & Luke Barrett
One last final Copenhagen post despite it being so long since I was even there, but I just rediscovered these photos lurking around in iPhoto so thought I'd share! This was one of my last days in Denmark, and we went to the National Aquarium, which was recently built and it was absolutely fantastic in architecture and design, despite a few tanks that did seem a little bit too small.
(the pic above was a projection on the entrance foyer, how cool is that???)

The aquarium was actually split up into loads of different areas, from reefs, to swamps, caves and even a little rainforest section with piranhas and tropical birds. Outside there were also sea otters and also puffins, who all happened to be hiding the whole time I was near the enclosure! Very sad.
All displays were in a range of languages, and although it wasn't that informative about a lot of the fish, there was a lot of kid stuff to keep the little ones (of which there were many) entertained. I can't remember exact figures, but there was a hell of a lot of fish within the one building.

Posing in the rainforest bit near the end of the day when it was super empty so I didn't feel too judged by people.

5 Spring Songs To Get You in the Mood

Feeling Springy yet? No? Let me give you a little hand...

First up, some Temples whose sounds is so spot on summer that I thought we'd kick off a spring playlist with some, just so you're even more in the mood. It kicks straight in to that awesome melody and it reminds me of festivals and although it's not quite summer right yet, this can make spring feel like it is.

Next up is Pelican, one of my favourites from The Maccabee's newer album, great driving music, great chill out music, great music to listen to while you're just having a good time.

I'm seeing the Wombats next month after so many years of waiting for them to come of their sort of hiatus, and I'm not at all disappointed by the music they've been bringing out, this being my personal favourite. I'm looking forward to playing this loudly while driving when I go back home!

Learn to Fly by the Foos is an instant classic, and as I'm volunteering at Glasto this year I thought I'd pop this in for another little bit of summery vibes, and you can't go wrong with a song as upbeat as this to get you into the springtime vibe.

Frank Turner is the love of my life, it's no secret, and this song is one that makes me feel a lot happier than before I listened to it. Really cheerful, get up and go kinda stuff. Nothing beats a bit of Frank when you want to be passionate about something.

Haim are such a good band, and it's great to see some all girl bands being so successful (song with Calvin Harris? hell. yes.). I think this was the first song I heard by them, but the whole album gets me in a great mood for some spring cleaning or revision (hah)

Lianne La Havas supported Bombay Bicycle Club about 3 years ago when I saw them in Plymouth, and although I never really listened to her back then, I love her voice, and how unique everything she does sounds compared to a lot else there. Really chilled.

Echosmith are an awesome, up and coming band that made it big with this happy little song which reminds me of other stuff but I really can't remember what? I love the whole album that this is off too.

Fall Out Boy wrote a song about dancing like Uma Therman and you didn't expect me to include it in my list?? As if.

Superfood is awesome. This song is awesome.  Cool.

I feel like the words 'chill' were used far too much in this, and I apologise, but seriously, Spring is great for chilling out with your friends while getting hyped for dem exams and then summer woo!!
Hope you like.

Sun & Skirts

Loved this skirt from the moment I saw it in the Topshop sale back at christmas I knew that it needed a place in my wardrobe. I'd never looked at maxi skirts much, as I've always been wary of anything below mini skirts and shorts. However, I think this skirt just flows so nicely and it's an actual joy to wear, apart from turning into a massive pain when there's any sign of wind. This is quite an old outfit, as you can see it was before my hair got attacked by the pinks and purples. Unfortunately the weather isn't that nice anymore, typical.

Notes Coffee House

As always I'm on the hunt for a new place to go that's different and not a pret a manger. This little hidden gem of a coffee shop is just off Trafalgar Square, and on the way towards Leicester Square. Inside is quite bare, with a lot of the plumbing and lighting wires on show, yet still with quite an elegant touch to the furnishings. The only problem is that seats are quite limited, but there's always the takeaway option!
Obviously the coffee is amazing, and although quite pricey, the cakes are absolutely to die for, and it's worth it just for that. (get the carrot cake, it's awesome)
Apologies for lack of updates that may occur soon, I misplaced my phone the other day so now only have an old brick phone, so I'll have fewer spontaneous pictures! Hopefully all will be sorted soon!

A Day At Brick Lane

The other day, armed with my trusty camera, I head to the Brick Lane and ate a whole lot of superb Mexican food...

God damn this place was amazing. Brick Lane itself has always been a bustling place to purchase vintage clothing (of which I did not buy any at all), and it's also well renown for shops such as Rough Trade East, and it's obscenely large number of Indian restaurants.
However, defying all of the general expectations, my friend and I instead went to this quirky looking restaurant called DF/Mexico. It's quite small, and we sat on one of those large communal tables which gave it a really nice open plan feel. You order similarly to how you would at Nando's, and your food is then delivered to your table really quickly. My favourite and definitely the most unique thing about this place was the choice of refillable drinks that included your usual suspects of coke, sprite etc but there were three unusuals:
Horchata, Hibiscus and Lime & Chia.
I, of course, made it my mission to try all three, and although I found some of them quite overpowering (horchata I'm looking at you) they were all definitely worth the price considering they were unlimited refills!
Anyway, onto the food: It was good. I had the veggie tacos option, got food everywhere and enjoyed every single second of it. Chilli chips were gorgeous, and my friend ordered a side of their sweetcorn which also tasted like it was made in heaven.
Need I say more? You need to eat here right now.
