The Liebster Award

Okay so, I was lucky enough to be nominated for this tag by the pretty rad Prim of Prim and Propa which was a massive surprise to me but I'm really chuffed to have been nominated anyway as I've seen lots of other blogs be nominated also! I think this is a lovely thing to be circulating around the blogging community and it definitely helps newer bloggers feel a lot more welcomed into the social side.
Here are the questions that I was asked:

What colour would you describe yourself as?
I'd definitely like to think I'm orange, as it's quite bright and colourful and it is my favourite colour for sure. However I imagine most of the time I'm a light grey haha
 Favourite Disney Movie?
Right now, I'm all about that Big Hero 6 hype as I just saw it the other day and Fall Out Boy are on the soundtrack so there really isn't much that can go wrong with that. Overall, probably something like Lion King as I'm a massive kid. (and the lion king part of kingdom hearts is awesome)
 What inspires you to write?
Mostly the want to have a record of what I'm doing and when so I can look back on it in a couple of years and remember it all. But I also want to share what I'm doing and be able to talk to others with similar interests about what I am enjoying!
 Instagram or Twitter?
This past year, probably instagram definitely, but I've had twitter for so so long that I think it will always have my heart, and I've met some amazing people through twitter, which could never really happen through instagram.
Tell us a little bit about your blog?
My blog was created as a bit of a live diary for when I moved to London, and I also wanted to be able to share my personal style as I love love seeing what other people wear and how they style themselves. I also like dragging in my other loves of music and gaming a little bit too if I can!
Explain your style in 3 words.
comfort, edgy, eclectic
Which city would you love to live in?
I would love to live in an American city, as they look so different and I've never truly experienced one such as New York or Los Angeles. However it was always my dream to live nearer to London, and well, I'm there right now so I have no complaints.
Bath or Shower?
For a long long time, this would have been bath, but purely for convenience (and lack of a bath) I must now say shower!
Name your all time favourite movie.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World
What blogs are you loving at the moment?
As always my 3 faves are HelenZoe London, and Amy Valentine
Out of the smaller blogs that I love just as much to read:
Sailor-storiesraggydolllobloggsluke-in-londonSarah Scribbles and loads loads more.
So I tag all those people above that I've mentioned and also anyone else who would like to do this, let me know you've done it in the comments as that would be lovely!
Here are my questions for you, and let me know when you've completed it as that would be fab!

What got you into blogging to begin with? What is your favourite outfit to wear? Ideal date night? Main inspirations for coming up with blog posts? What is your favourite type of blog post to a) read and b) write? Any other hobbies outside of blogging? A fact people might not know about you? Favourite stores to shop in? Favourite food? Favourite band? Describe your blog with a sentence.

Thanks so much for reading!

Hampstead Heath

As a bit of a country girl, living in London for the majority of the last 6 months has made me really realise that I miss the greenery of the countryside and just looking out my window and seeing nothing but countryside. Yet now I look out on another office and don't even get direct sunlight sigh.
Anyway, as the 24 bus goes straight past me, I've always wondered what this place called Hampstead Heath is, as the word heath seemed far too green and country to apply to the central London.
However I was completely shocked to find that this expanse of fields and trees existed not too far from Kentish Town. The view is phenomenal (despite us originally finding the wrong viewpoint and being slightly disappointed) and you can see the Shard and King's Cross and practically all of central London. Honestly, go here if you can it's a ridiculous place that I didn't even think could exist.

Denim for Days

Found this lovely little square in Fitzrovia not too far from my halls and it was so quiet so I made Luke take loads of photos so I could show off some of my favourite items of clothing. Only looking back now do I realise wearing the scarf and the jumper looks a little odd, but whatevs man that jumper was £5 and I've seen ones identical in Topshop. It's always worth scouring markets as there normally is something great like this buried amongst all the "I <3 Kush" hats.

Scarf - Asos
Jumper - Brick Lane Markets

Friday Catch Up #6

A bit late but it's here, a brief round up of my week:

Top left clockwise:
Iszy and I went on a trip to Harrods
Saw Rae Morris last night at Electric Brixton (IT WAS AMAZING)
Luke and I at a dodgball social
GBK for dinner yhhhh

A pretty uneventful week in terms of events really, I also went to Hampstead Heath on Sunday, but apart from that it's been quite relaxed with the majority of today actually being spent in bed! (shhh)
Hope you're week has been good too!

Whyte & Brown at Carnaby Street

This was one of those completely accidental finds. Hidden away in a courtyard off Carnaby Street is this lovely modern styled pub/restaurant. The decor is very minimalist with industrial fittings including a tap and pipes visible all over. The staircase up to the restaurant is glass and modernist yet the wooden floors still make it feel rustic almost. Despite these photos, this place was super busy, and the bar downstairs was pretty full
Food was served on slate and on wooden boards as well as the moor traditional plates, and sides of fries came in tin cups as you can see in the picture above. Perhaps the best thing, was the side of mac & cheese that came in it's own little frying pan, which was adorable.
I ordered a grilled vegetable kebab with hallomi and a salad and it was truly gorgeous, I then had a steamed apple desert and honestly my tastebuds have not been happier. One of the nicest places I've been to while in London, and I'd love to visit again, especially as the prices are quite purse friendly!
(also potentially lovely valentines idea?)
Any other secret London spots you know of? Let me know!

Greenwich Park

My parents came up to London for a visit this weekend just gone, and as I'd embarrassingly never visited Greenwich park, which has a crazy amount of places of historical importance, such as the Greenwich Observatory, the Greenwich Meridian and loads of museums and lots of beautiful architecture to boot. Also that massive boat, as if I could forget.
The whole place is beautiful, I love going to areas of greenery in the urban sprawl on London, and I'd love to return on a sunnier day than the rather overcast one I visited on. There's so much here that I also feel I missed a lot of it as we were rushing back for our reservation at the Rainforest Cafe. (it was lovely i've never eaten more food in my life).
Definitely worth the trip if you are in London, even if it's slightly out of the way, and it's a great place to take photos!

What I wore
Topshop Joni Jeans
Topshop Jumper
M&S Chelsea Jobs
Miss Selfridge Coat

Mac - Diva

So on my trip to Spitalfield's market the other week I decided to purchase my first ever Mac make up!!!! yeah i can't believe that I didn't have one but until about a year ago I didn't even own a lipstick and I've slowly been working my way there until voila... here we are.

Ignoring how bad my application is, as my lips were like the Sahara desert on this day and I stupidly forgot to apply any lip balm. sigh. But look at the colour!!!! It's such a lovely dark berry colour that is so different to anything else that I own, and it's a matte too, which I think is my favourite finish for a lipstick. It faded slightly patchy, but again, this may have been to my dry lips. It was easy to apply, and Mac's lipstick bullets mean they're very transportable so it's not like you can't quickly top up in the toilets throughout the day, and it's definitely a colour then can work the day to night multi-function of make up that everyone craves nowadays.
Got any other recommendations for Mac lipsticks, let me know in the comments!

Pink at Trafalgar

I love love love looooove this coat.  It's soft and very warm, the whole thing is fleece lined and comes up rather large so you can still wear warm clothes underneath. It's really quite flattering for such a thick item, and although the belt isn't great that is the only downfall. I especially loved the colour, as it's so different and bright compared to most people's black or grey coats that have flooded London these past few weeks. I've never really been a pink wearing gal but I think this coat may have just won me over.
Would you wear a brighter coat/do you have one?

LUSH - Mint Julips Lip Scrub

Not only does this wonderful lip scrub have a rhyme on it's lid, it's also super tasty and literally does smell exactly like it says on the tin. I looooooove Lush's sugar scrubs and I bought my first one back when I was 16, and I believe that was the more chocolate based one. They also have a bubbegum flavour and when I popped in the other day I'm pretty sure I spotted a cheeky limited edition rose version too.
These are lovely little pots of goodness that kinda, exfoliate the dry and unwanted skin on lips to make a lovely smooth lip which is oh so desirable at this time of year. I always have really chapped lips in winter, so these are a massive help for me, and a necessity before applying lipstick as it creates a smooth finish and makes your lips look so much nicer!
