Friday Catch Up #1

Mum and I found the Moomin shop in Covent Garden!
Chillling with the Sphinx by Cleopatra's needle

St Paul's Cathedral

Hello again! I thought I'd post a few photos of my last few weeks, as a little summary of what I've been up to! Obviously these photos aren't completely representative... The majority of the photos on my phone are either photos of worksheets or rocks, and I wish I was joking. I've honestly been so busy, I've been auditioning for shows left right and centre (so far no luck lul) and hopefully I might be hearing about a radio show soon! I keep meaning to actually make more posts about outfits and exciting things but I can never find time to take a photo of myself/never feel comfortable! Hopefully I'll have time soon!
Also I'm hopfully making this Friday post a regular thing, so hopefully I'll have another post like this for you next week! Thanks for reading!

London Life Update

Okay so I've now been living in London for just over 3 weeks, and I'm just finished my second week of my university course!
This has perhaps been the most busiest month of my entire life, I've met so many new people (& forgotten so many names!) and learnt so much stuff about living on my own... and also the stuff from my university course obviously!! Although some of it is ridiculously hard, and when I mean some, I basically just mean chemistry, the bane of my life.
I've never really been a massive chef before, normally just the odd bake, so having to fend for myself in the kitchen has actually been surprisingly enjoyable. I have even ventured so far as making ratatouille, however by the time I made it I was too ill to eat it, and Luke had to finish it :( luckily my mum has been visiting me this weekend so I've had more substantial meals then my normal pasta and sauce late night cba to cook diet as of late! Although I have splurged on a recipe book so hopefully I will soon be a moderate cook!

This is a picture of me in my room on the very first day I moved in, I tried to make my room as colourful as possible! Currently it is a bit of a state though so hopefully I'll manage to keep it a bit tidier! More London updates soon hopefully x

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner - Review

So I recently took the plunge and went and bought this newest gel eyeliner from Benefit cosmetics on an impulse while in my latest boots.
The packaging itself is quite lovely, and it matches with the other They're Real products that Benefit has released. The only problem with the packaging is that sometimes the gel liner can clog the applicator, but this is easily managed if you clean it after use if you have the time!
The actual product is lovely, you twist the bottom and the gel is pushed up into the flexible applicator. You then slide this along your eyelid, it moves fluidly, but sometimes not enough gel is released and several applications are required to truly get a dark line. This isn't really a problem for me, as I sometimes use this eyeliner as an outline before filling in with a pencil eyeliner for more colour. This isn't great, but I still find the applicator makes the whole process so much easier (honestly, I've NEVER been able to do eyeliner this well) that it's still worth the purchase.
The eyeliner itself also has brilliant staying power, it doesn't drift nor crease, which is perfect.
If you're looking for the perfect gel applicator, this isn't quite it, but it's about as close as you are going to get in the current market. I also firmly believe the positives of this product completely outweigh it's negatives. Boots are currently offering a trade-in, bring an old eyeliner and swap for a sample of They're Real! So get in and give it a try!
Honestly the neatest line I could ever draw ever.

also check out my university accommodation, I got the brightest duvet that I could possibly find.

My University Bucketlist

So, a couple of weeks ago I found out that I'd got a place into university! When I first heard, I was super excited, especially since I'm attending a university within London, but as the time to move is creeping nearer I've been thinking more about what I really need to do while I'm away. Obviously the first thing is that I need to start packing all my clothes and necessities, and then cart it all the way up to London from Cornwall! It's going to be a very busy week, I stop work on Saturday and from Sunday to Wednesday it's frantic packing and trying to say goodbye to as many people as possible before I'm off to Christmas.

However the packing and moving isn't really the biggest thing on my mind, I'm trying to focus on what comes next, and what I need to do to really make the most of my university experience.

  1. Try not to get too distracted from my actual studies, and actually do work! (hoping my extensive revision from A Levels can be replicated again)
  2. Meet lots of new people and try out lots of new things, pick up a new hobby etc.
  3. Explore London and not just get stuck in the trap of never straying on the trodden path.
  4. Be more confidant in myself, and what I'm doing!
  5. Basically just enjoy myself, because it'd be stupid not to!
  6. Don't blow all my money on non-essentials!!
I think that covers most of it... What do you think?

Wishlist #1

From left to right clockwise:

Hello again! Too long since I've last posted, I was trying to keep to a weekly schedule but apparently I couldn't even keep that up for one week! Anyway, here's a small list of some of the select few items I've been lusting after lately. I'm not feeling all to autumn-y yet as the last few days have been so warm, I'm still out and about in skirts and shorts with no tights, hence why none of these are coats or other winter accessories... yet.

I'm trying to get a but more adventurous with my wardrobe, so when I've been out shopping lately I've been trying to push myself to get things that are a little bit out of my comfort zone. The Topshop dress and the River Island shirt are both a lot more vibrant than most things I would normally wear, while also both being quite trans-seasonal. You can't really see it from the picture, but the Topshop dress has cut outs that look super flattering.

The Asos body is included because it's unlike anything you normally see,  and I think it would be great layered up for the autumn. Lastly, and definitely not least, is the Motel sequin dress. Just look at it. It's seriously one of the nicest looking dresses I've ever seen. I love how the sequins make it flashy but the bodycon makes it also look quite classy too. As I'm going away to university quite soon, I thought this would make a lovely freshers week dress, as well as something that could be worn for any evening out.

What do you guys think?

Why I'm Sad Summer is Over

The End Of Festival Season
This year I've made it to 3 festivals thoughout the summer, one of which I volunteered at with Hotbox Events and had the most amazing time. I love festivals, and I firmly believe there is nothing that can compare to being in a field with thousands of others to watch live music.

No More Shorts & Sandals

I love this shirt more than most, and these sandals are gorgeous and also extremely comfortable, so I'll be very sad to have to phase them out of everyday use </3
Also, not hyped for having to wear tights with shorts :(

No Longer Acceptable to Drink This!
it's absolutely gorgeous, never really casually had a cider before I tried some of it. Who wouldn't love a mango cider, let us all be honest here!

The Weather!
I'm not going to lie, due to working and somehow finding myself to be ridiculously busy, I haven't made it to the beach as much as I would have originally of liked to this summer! Although I've been swimming in pools quite a bit at the start of the summer, I've always seemed to have been away from the sea when the weather is being kind. Maybe the weather will pick up in the next few weeks so I get one more chance to visit the beach!

Now I know this post may seem premature to most, but it is September now, so it's time to start embracing the autumn and all that it brings. Which is why I'll be posting about why I'm glad summer is over too!

Why are you sad that summer is drawing to a close?

July Favourites

Hello again, and welcome to my very vary belated July favourites!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun
You can find this literally anywhere, I bought this in my local supermarket after borrowing it from a friend at Latitude Festival, and loved everything about it. It smells absolutely gorgeous, the bottle says 'Coconut Papaya' and there is definitely coconut, but the best way I can describe it is just tropical. It applies really nice, definitely makes your skin feel better and it soothed my sunburn so well that I had to hunt it down. It really was my festival saviour, and it's quite reasonably priced too!

Soap & Glory Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Stick in Rapunzel
If anyone's bought one of Clinique's chubby sticks, then this is a very similar product. Basically a pencil for your lips, it could not be easier to apply, and the colour is a dark pink, almost a purple, so I wasn't entirely sure of it, but I'm really surprised by just how lovely it is. The only downside is that it kind of dries my lips out when first applied, but that is my only problem.

Benefit's They're Real push-up liner
Ah, the love it or hate it product that everyone seems to be talking about, and I have to say, I'm really loving it. Never before has my eyeliner looked as tidy since I've started using this, my flicks now actually look at like, instead of more like a mistake. It's super easy to apply, although sometimes it doesn't come out that thickly, and I go over it with a kohl pencil to darken the line over the lid. Anyway, definitely don't listen to the haters on this one and give it a try, I absolutely love it!

Barry M Matte Nail Polish in Vanilla
I love Barry M, I really do. There colours are gorgeous and cheap and I'm really digging this collection of matte nail polishes. The colour of this is lovely, neutral yet still with something different about it. It chips very easily, but when I wore it it was without a base coat so that might explain it! Definitely going to be buying more Barry M nail varnish, as I adore the few that I do have.

Music Fave of the month- Lana Del Ray's Ultraviolence
Game Fave of the month- The Ratchet & Clank series (I couldn't choose just the one!)

And that's it for now, thanks for reading!!
