Charlotte's Tea House

Ahh, let me introduce you to possibly one of my most favourite places to go in any situation ever. It's the most beautiful little tea house in Truro, and it's decorated like a Victorian living room with beautiful curtains, chandeliers and paintings as you can see from the photos up above! Currently it was also decorated with loads of christmassy goodness which made it even more lovely than usual.
Luke and I had a pot of tea for two, I had the Davidstow cheddar, onion and tomato quiche (which was GORGEOUS man Davidstow cheddar is the nicest cheese), whereas Luke went for a potato toastie, which I've had before and it's nearly almost as nice as the quiche.
For desert I had apple pie with ice cream, and this desert is the reason I live, honestly, I wish this place did deliveries of some kind because I would have to order a whole pie for myself every week it's ridiculous how lovely this is. Luke had carrot cake, which although nice is average compared to the heaven on a plate that is the apple pie. Trust me on this one.
Basically, if you ever holiday in Cornwall and end up in Truro (which you probably will it's the only city in the county!) then head to Charlotte's Tea House, it's a bit hidden but it's definitely a gem worth finding!

Benefit Christmas Blush & Bronze Palette

From top to bottom: Sugarbomb (all colours mixed), Balabamba, Dandelion, Rockateur, Coralista and Hoola

Hello again!
This is a palette i got a few weeks ago for my birthday, but it's part Benefit's Christmas release of palettes and oh my gosh it is the coolest palette ever!! It contains six different shades, five of which are blushers and one is Hoola, their best selling bronzer. On the top photo going clockwise, we have Dandelion, Balabamba, Sugarbomb, Rockateur, Coralista and finally Hoola. This also comes with a small sample of Watts Up their creamy highlighter that I love putting on my brow bone for that little extra glimmer with an almost pinkish hue, which suits my complexion quite well but is also blendable enough that it could become quite sheer if only a little was used!
All the blushes are quite sheer, but they're buildable and they're all shades that suit pretty much everyone and the variability in this palette means that there's definitely something for every single look that you want! I love mixing some Rockateur up with some red lipstick for a night out, or only lightly adding some dandelion to perk up my cheeks when it's cold out!
My love for benefit is pretty much unconditional, I love their packaging, all the staff are always so personable and friendly, and they just seem to have a laid back atmosphere that brands like MAC don't quite seem to have! There's no faffing around with this palette, the packaging is cute, but the pans of make up are as big as the real deal so you get your moneys worth and about three times more, as this palette was only £30!
Buy it for someone you love at christmas, or just go straight ahead and buy it for yourself, but if you are looking for a place to head into the foray of blushers, this is the place to start yourself off!
(I have a feeling this palette may only be available from their Carnaby Street flagship store, as I've never seen it available anywhere else, so if so, why not plan that London shopping trip now, eh?)

Wishlist #2

It couldn't be helped, there's so many new clothes, shoes & accessories coming out for the winter season lately that I can't resist wanting to buy so much of it! I love winter clothing, and I never seem to have enough, so while I've been scouting here's a few of my top picks from various brands...

Didn't realise how much stuff I actually was keeping tabs on until I started making this haha!

The scarf from Asos could have been any one of about 20, I absolutely adore Asos' knitwear section this time of year and I can guarantee at least one item from it will be mine by the time the year is out. (I already own so many scarves, another won't hurt, right??)
The kimono I thought was a little different while also being very autumnal, and I love Drop Dead pretty much unconditionally, or it would be, if my bank account was bottomless.
All the other items are from just being nosy around on different stores and they really caught my eye and I've been praying for them to magically appear in my room, but alas, not yet.
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed my picks!

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner - Review

So I recently took the plunge and went and bought this newest gel eyeliner from Benefit cosmetics on an impulse while in my latest boots.
The packaging itself is quite lovely, and it matches with the other They're Real products that Benefit has released. The only problem with the packaging is that sometimes the gel liner can clog the applicator, but this is easily managed if you clean it after use if you have the time!
The actual product is lovely, you twist the bottom and the gel is pushed up into the flexible applicator. You then slide this along your eyelid, it moves fluidly, but sometimes not enough gel is released and several applications are required to truly get a dark line. This isn't really a problem for me, as I sometimes use this eyeliner as an outline before filling in with a pencil eyeliner for more colour. This isn't great, but I still find the applicator makes the whole process so much easier (honestly, I've NEVER been able to do eyeliner this well) that it's still worth the purchase.
The eyeliner itself also has brilliant staying power, it doesn't drift nor crease, which is perfect.
If you're looking for the perfect gel applicator, this isn't quite it, but it's about as close as you are going to get in the current market. I also firmly believe the positives of this product completely outweigh it's negatives. Boots are currently offering a trade-in, bring an old eyeliner and swap for a sample of They're Real! So get in and give it a try!
Honestly the neatest line I could ever draw ever.

also check out my university accommodation, I got the brightest duvet that I could possibly find.

My University Bucketlist

So, a couple of weeks ago I found out that I'd got a place into university! When I first heard, I was super excited, especially since I'm attending a university within London, but as the time to move is creeping nearer I've been thinking more about what I really need to do while I'm away. Obviously the first thing is that I need to start packing all my clothes and necessities, and then cart it all the way up to London from Cornwall! It's going to be a very busy week, I stop work on Saturday and from Sunday to Wednesday it's frantic packing and trying to say goodbye to as many people as possible before I'm off to Christmas.

However the packing and moving isn't really the biggest thing on my mind, I'm trying to focus on what comes next, and what I need to do to really make the most of my university experience.

  1. Try not to get too distracted from my actual studies, and actually do work! (hoping my extensive revision from A Levels can be replicated again)
  2. Meet lots of new people and try out lots of new things, pick up a new hobby etc.
  3. Explore London and not just get stuck in the trap of never straying on the trodden path.
  4. Be more confidant in myself, and what I'm doing!
  5. Basically just enjoy myself, because it'd be stupid not to!
  6. Don't blow all my money on non-essentials!!
I think that covers most of it... What do you think?

Wishlist #1

From left to right clockwise:

Hello again! Too long since I've last posted, I was trying to keep to a weekly schedule but apparently I couldn't even keep that up for one week! Anyway, here's a small list of some of the select few items I've been lusting after lately. I'm not feeling all to autumn-y yet as the last few days have been so warm, I'm still out and about in skirts and shorts with no tights, hence why none of these are coats or other winter accessories... yet.

I'm trying to get a but more adventurous with my wardrobe, so when I've been out shopping lately I've been trying to push myself to get things that are a little bit out of my comfort zone. The Topshop dress and the River Island shirt are both a lot more vibrant than most things I would normally wear, while also both being quite trans-seasonal. You can't really see it from the picture, but the Topshop dress has cut outs that look super flattering.

The Asos body is included because it's unlike anything you normally see,  and I think it would be great layered up for the autumn. Lastly, and definitely not least, is the Motel sequin dress. Just look at it. It's seriously one of the nicest looking dresses I've ever seen. I love how the sequins make it flashy but the bodycon makes it also look quite classy too. As I'm going away to university quite soon, I thought this would make a lovely freshers week dress, as well as something that could be worn for any evening out.

What do you guys think?
Thanks for reading!

Why I'm Sad Summer is Over

The End Of Festival Season
This year I've made it to 3 festivals thoughout the summer, one of which I volunteered at with Hotbox Events and had the most amazing time. I love festivals, and I firmly believe there is nothing that can compare to being in a field with thousands of others to watch live music.

No More Shorts & Sandals

I love this shirt more than most, and these sandals are gorgeous and also extremely comfortable, so I'll be very sad to have to phase them out of everyday use </3
Also, not hyped for having to wear tights with shorts :(

No Longer Acceptable to Drink This!
it's absolutely gorgeous, never really casually had a cider before I tried some of it. Who wouldn't love a mango cider, let us all be honest here!

The Weather!
I'm not going to lie, due to working and somehow finding myself to be ridiculously busy, I haven't made it to the beach as much as I would have originally of liked to this summer! Although I've been swimming in pools quite a bit at the start of the summer, I've always seemed to have been away from the sea when the weather is being kind. Maybe the weather will pick up in the next few weeks so I get one more chance to visit the beach!

Now I know this post may seem premature to most, but it is September now, so it's time to start embracing the autumn and all that it brings. Which is why I'll be posting about why I'm glad summer is over too!

Why are you sad that summer is drawing to a close?
